Project Overview

This research project explores aestetic information displays called informative art. These displays are visualizations that use art as inspiration for both their appearance and their role in our surroundings. The idea behind this is that by creating information presentations that disappear into the background when they are not used, we should be able to have a greater amount of information available without it overburdening our senses.

We have designed a set of examples of informative art, which are described in the prototypes section. The project has also generated a number of academic publications over the years, which all can be downloaded from the publications page. Furthermore, we have some ideas about how this kind of displays should be evaluated, and we also have a page listing events related to the project.

The project is driven at the Future Applications Lab , Viktoria Institute, Göteborg, Sweden.
